hat - h&m
shirt - new look
jumper - fridays project
jeans - topshop leighs
coat - fashion union (gftd)
collar tips - new look
lips - mac - creme cup

A while ago I was kindly sent this coat from Fashion Union and I completely forgot to post about it when I got it. It is an extremely warm military styled coat and I am obsessed with it, I wear it almost every day, it keeps me so warm and I always get compliments on it when ever I wear it. I finally found some cheap collar tips last Saturday from New Look, they look so good and they were only £3.99 compared to most I've seen which are £10+! I think I'm going to try and fit a nail tutorial in of how I did my nails, so if you would like to see how I did them keep an eye out for that with in the next week.

You might be able to tell, that I've had my hair ombred. I got it done two weeks ago ish. My cousin Stacey did it for me, she dyed the top part of it darker and I later bleached the ends myself but you cant really tell much difference on the ends. I have a post drafted about how we did it, if you want to see how I did it I can post that for you all but if not I might just leave it until the next time I do my hair because I don't think its really noticeably ombred right now.

christmas decor

Ive never decorated my bedroom for christmas but this year I was inspired by Bethany from macbarbie07 as her room looked so nice and festive with fairy lights and christmas trees all over. I didn't want to go too over board as my room does already look a bit cluttered but here are a few ideas and suggestions for how to decorate your bedroom for christmas.

bedding, throw & cushion - primark

To make the most christmasy impact in a bedroom is to have christmas themed bedding, this bedding is from primark it was £16, which I think is a bit over priced for primark as mine had a rip in the stitching and its a really thin material, but I love the fair isle pattern it has and that its not too in your face. I also got the matching throw which was £5 which I think is much more reasonable for primark quality! Although saying that it is a really soft material but it is a lot smaller than other primark throws I've had in the past, it doesn't even cover my bed fully. I really wanted christmas themed cushions to put on my bed as I think they make it feel more cosy and comfortable, I did want more than one but primark only did two versions and the red one was the one I liked best. I want some more christmas themed cushions but I haven't been able to find anywhere that sells them, if you know where sells nice ones please leave it in a comment below.

glitter stag - paper chase £4.75

As my room is mainly pink I wanted to stick to that theme so I bought from Paperchase a stag ornament, it is so pretty and completely different to any other stag ornaments I've seen. Little ornaments are really nice to add colour and festiveness into any room with out it being too obvious that its for christmas.

neon pink christmas tree - paper chase £8.50

The most obvious way to make your room christmasy is to have a christmas tree. Mine is a neon pink one from Paper chase, I usually wouldn't go for neon pink or any artificial colour for christmas but I really like mine and it fits into my room really nicely, I don't think mine looks too tacky (hopefully) so I think I can get away with it.

100 glass baubles - paper chase £10

I decorated my tree with these mini baubles from Paper chase, I even think they look so pretty just sitting in the box. I did just want to get plain coloured baubles, like all gold or silver but I couldn't really find nices ones that I liked so I just went for the multi coloured ones and I think they work really well on my tree.

20 mini stars - £4.00, gold tree topper - £2.50

In between the baubles I hung these mini star decorations and topped the tree off with a gold star.

yankee candle christmas memories sample box - £19.99

My mum bought me and my brother one of these Yankee Candle christmas samplers as an extra advent calendar, there are 12 different christmas scents for you to burn and each one smells delicious. Its a great way to try all the different scents with out committing to buying one big candle.

I burn them in this silver candle holder which I got last year from a local garden centre, I cut the name of the candle out and stick it on the side of the holder so I remember which one I'm burning incase I really like it and want to buy the larger version.

20 mini christmas tree lights - primark £2.50

When I saw these lights in primark I didn't really think much of them, I didn't think they would work at all and for £2.50 they must be really bad quality, but I was wrong. They are so nice when they are switched on, I have them around the top of my wardrobe and round one of my mirrors.

I hope you liked this post and maybe got a few ideas on how to decorate your room for christmas, if you have done a post like this please link it below I would love to read it!

november favourites

kate moss 107 / ren day cream / ren eye cream / models own indian ocean / maxfactor foundation / downtown abbey / rimmel stay matte powder / blistex relief cream / clinique smouldering plum blusher

Kate Moss 107 - Rimmel released some amazing matte lipsticks this month and my favourite out of all of them is the colour 107, it is a gorgeous deep purple/plum colour and looks amazing for autumn. I haven't been any where to wear the colour completely opaque in its full glory as it is very dark but I have been dabbing a little bit onto my lips and using it quite like a stain to give a supple vampy look.

Ren Day Cream / Eye Cream - I have heard lots of things about Ren skin care but as it is so expensive I've never tried any of it, I saw a magazine (can't remember which) had 3 Ren skin care products as freebies so I thought I'd give them a go and I'm so glad I have. The day cream gives just the right amount of moisture to your skin with out it looking greasy and the eye cream is amazing, I defiantly think it has reduced my under eye circles.

Models Own Indian Ocean - I bought this a while ago and found it in my draw the other week with the cellophane still wrapped around it, so I gave it a test and bam hello new favourite nail varnish! This over OPI's 'whats with the cattitude' is perfect, its like wearing mermaids on your nails.

Maxfactor Face Finity All Day Flawless Foundation - This was recommended to me by my friend as I needed a new foundation as my Benefit hello flawless foundation is too dark for me now its winter. This is a primer, concealer, and foundation all in 1 and only putting this on my face in the morning feels much better than putting it all on separately. Because of the primer the formula is really soft, almost as soft as the Smashbox photo finish primer. I have the colour beige and it is perfect for my skin right now. It stays on for hours and leaves my face matte and lovely all day.

Downton Abbey - I bought season 1 of Downton Abbey at the beginning of November as it was on sale in HMV for £8 and I had been meaning to start watching it for ages. I watched the first episode and fell in love, I immediately went out and bough season 2 and 3 and my mum and I watched it back to back for about 2 weeks and we've now watched every episode, its unbelievable.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - Along with the Maxfactor foundation this creates the most perfectly flawless finish on your face, no oil escapes this baby.

Blistex Relief Cream - My lips have been really sore and cracked because of the colder weather, and whenever I apply this it is instant relief, it is a cream formula which moisturises and heals your lips with out that horrible tingling feeling most lip balms give.

Clinique Smouldering Plum Blusher - This is the perfect winter berry colour that looks great with pale skin.

Ok so every time I have exams coming up I post a blog post saying, 'I'm leaving to study real hard, see you soon!" This is kind of one of those posts, but not quite as I always post it and the day after I will post a beauty review and just give in to temptation and want to blog loads when really I should be revising. So its basically just me saying maybe I'll be blogging, maybe I won't, I am not promising either way, its just kind of a warning to if I do resist temptation as an explanation as to where I am. I probably will post some instagram photos like this or just a quick review if I can't stop myself. If I didn't blog, I would actually not have a hobby, I don't go out or anything like that, I just basically stay in and play with my bunnies or surf the web for hours on end. So if I didn't blog I would be able to get a lot more revision in and maybe in January I will pass my biology exams!

I will not be doing youtube videos until after January as they take too much time and effort when I should be doing other more productive things. I will be finished sixth form in January so after that I won't have anything at all to do so I will be able to get into youtube etc. I don't feel comfortable on camera at the moment because of my weight, and I know thats stupid but I lost 2 stone in 2011 and haven't really kept up with the good eating and have put a bit of that back on and I just want to loose that weight and a bit more before I commit to showing my face on camera all the time. I will not be giving up instagram or twitter so you can follow me if you don't want to miss out on hearing about my extraordinary life and me in general (@sophief0ster). So I'll see you soon, or maybe January xoxo

While I'm gone you should read some of my favourite blogs;

james brown photo fabulous hair care

james brown photo fabulous - moisturising shampoo, conditioner, shine spray, wave spray, heat protectant spray, intensive hair conditioner

James Brown has become my favourite hair care brand this year, not only do his products smell absolutely amazing, they do absolutely amazing things to your hair! Since using the photo fabulous range the condition of my hair has improved dramatically. I can't stress enough as to how literally fabulous this range is.

The moisturising shampoo and conditioner leave your hair feeling so silky soft. They contain little bits of shimmer which helps reflect light and create the effect of super shiny, glossy hair. As I have blonde hair it is hard to make it look glossy but with this shampoo and conditioner it takes no effort. The conditioner has a detangling effect and makes my hard to comb hair a dream!

I haven't been using the finishing spray for a while but when it was in the Boots 3 for 2 I thought I'd give it a go. It is a high shine spray which you spray onto your hair once you have styled it and it just sets it in place and makes it look a lot less dull. I hate using hair spray unless I wear my hair curly, which is not very often, but this is a great alternative to help keep your hair in place with out the hard crispy texture hair spray gives. The only thing I'm disappointed in, is the smell, it smells like red peppers or something, it does not smell as nice as the rest of the products in this range which is a shame, but that doesn't matter as it is a brilliant finishing spray.

I also picked this product up when Boots had their 3 for 2 event on and as I am running out of my Label M sea salt spray (review here) and it is too expensive to buy at the moment when I won't be using it as often as I would in the summer. So I thought I would try this one as a temporary measure until the summer. I think it is just as good as the Label M sea salt spray, if not better. Not only does it smell better than the Label M one, it has the added shimmer and gloss and makes my natural waves look perfectly tousled with out the frizz.

I have been using this for ages and have repurchased it so many times. I use this every time I blow dry or straighten my hair, it makes your hair smell beautiful, it is a smell that lingers on your hair and when ever you move you can smell it. If I skip the heat protectant I can immediately tell in my hair as it just looks dull and lifeless with out it.

I used this a while ago and never repurchased it, but I'm not sure why, I now use this once a week to keep my hair in good condition and looking as good as possible. It is one of those conditioners that you can feel working when you rinse it out of your hair in the shower. If I have time I usually wash my hair then put this in and leave it for about 1 hour or as long as possible and you can just tell how much healthier your hair feels and looks after using it.

faster than the wind

leather jacket - topshop
jumper - primark
shirt - new look
necklace - new look
jeans - topshop leigh's
socks - topshop
boots - primark
nails - models own - true blue

Oh I've relocated my outfit photos yet again, who won the bet on how long I'd last taking them outside my garage door? My garage door was just too white and made an extreme contrast between me and the door so I've moved into the spare bedroom, I already take beauty photos in here because the lighting is so good, so it made scene to take outfit photos in there too! I hope the inconsistency of the background doesn't bother any of you, it bothers me a lot!

I've been getting into youtube a lot these past few weeks, I've filmed a few videos but as I'm a perfectionist, I film them then don't like them and I never upload them, this could become a great problem! My last video was the 'about me tag' and my friend told me I sound really geordie in it! Which has me paranoid now, because I didn't think I sounded geordie and I don't like the geordie accent one bit, I'm not sure what to do about that now! I suppose I'll get over it soon, hopefully I will, because I really like making videos and I have a lot in mind to do! Maybe I should just subtitle all my videos haha!

Theres not long left of my giveaway, so don't forget to enter if you haven't already!

october favourites

body shop - moringa body butter / models own - beach party and red red wine / paper chase note book / james brown high shine finishing spray / rimmel lip liner - red diva / nivea lip balm / real techniques buffing brush / clinique - all about the eyes eye cream

Body Shop Moringa Body Butter - Everyone probably already knows how good the Body Shop body butters are but they came out with another scent and I have to say its now one of my favourites. It may not be to everyones taste because it is quiet flowery, but it reminds me of spring so much and warm days. It moisturises your skin like nothing else I've ever tried, it leaves it smooth and soft for days!

Models Own Beach Party - As you know my all time Models Own nail varnish is 'beach party' and I have been wearing it a lot this month, it was a perfect colour for halloween and just looks amazing with dark outfits.

Models Own Red Red Wine - The oxblood red trend is in full force this season and as I haven't been able to pick up any clothing items in this colour yet Models Own's 'red red wine' is a great way to pull that trend into Autumn outfits.

Paper Chase Note Book - Since starting up youtube this month I have been getting a lot of video requests and ideas so I've been using my 'blog' book to keep all the ideas in, I have so many in mind to do its just getting round to blogging about them all that holds me back! If you have any more ideas for videos or posts for me to add in to the book just let me know.

James Brown High Shine Finishing Spray - I love the photo fabulous range by James Brown and this finishing spray has been a life saver for me this past month. I don't like the feeling of hair spray on my hair when its down and straight so this has helped to add shine and hold my hair in place a bit more rather than having really crunchy hair. It smells so weird though, it smells like red peppers, all of the other photo fabulous products smell so nice but this one is a bit strange, though it doesn't put me off as the quality of this spray is amazing it makes my hair so glossy its beautiful!

Rimmel London Red Diva Lip Liner - In the past couple of months I have been starting to wear lip stick and this month I've been experimenting with darker lip colours for Autumn. My favourite this month has been just wearing this Rimmel lip liner, it leaves a matte finish and doesn't bleed and has amazing staying power! It also makes my teeth look super white!

Nivea Lip Balm - This has got to be my favourite lip care brand as Vaseline is just too greasy and others are too dry, it makes my lips feel soooo soft its crazy! I have been wearing it all month and it has protected them from the cold and they are in great condition because of it. It doesn't look too greasy when you're wearing it which is good because my hair always seems to be attracted to my lips when ever I have lip balm on.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush - I have started using this brush to apply my foundation instead of my MAC 187 brush and I am glad I have as it blends it in so well and makes your skin look flawless, this brush with the Benefit Hello Flawless foundation is perfection.

Clinique All About The Eyes - This eye cream is the only one I've ever tried but it seems to do the job, it makes my eye area look so much better, it de-puffs and brightens my whole eye area its amazing!

this is a competition entry for gift vouchers blogger challenge

1. This Benefit gift set is everything you'll ever need when traveling. It has 10 mini testers of Benefits most popular products. It is a perfect set if you have never tried Benefit products for only £25 you get to try loads of their amazing products with out committing your self to buying full sizes with the risk you won't like it.

2. Since most people now have iPhones or iPod Touches. Most of the time on my iPhone and iPod I am watching youtube videos or watching something on BBC iplayer and its annoying having to hold your phone when watching something, so with this iHop bunny stand it makes life so much easier, it just sticks onto the back of your phone and holds it in place for you, it also doubles up as an earphone wrap!

3. To go with the iHop a £25 gift card for iTunes would be a perfect gift for someone who loves music but you don't quite know what they have and haven't got music wise.

4. As you probably already know Real Techniques is one of my favourite make up brush brands (review here). So for a girl who loves make up this core collection face set would be a perfect gift to get her started with amazing make up brushes!

5. Models Own have done it again with another amazing nail varnish collection, based around the cold winter days the 'Wonderland collection' is a fabulously festive present for any nail art junkie.

6. The Lana Del Rey 'Born to Die' album is one of my all time favourites so when I heard she was bringing out a 'Paradise edition' I came close to crying with excitement (slight exaggeration)! Lana has the most perfect voice and I can't wait to hear her new songs.

7. I have been a hardcore Taylor Swift fan ever since 'love story', her new album looks almost as perfect as her face. I already know I'm getting her album off my parents for christmas but I can't wait to listen to all her songs, I have already listened to 'red' and 'knew you were trouble' on youtube but I am trying to resist listening to anymore because I don't want to ruin the first time I hear her album by already having heard her songs.

8. BBC Radio 1's live lounge albums are always the best as they have a variety of music for almost everyone to enjoy. The 2012 version has Ben Howards cover of 'call me maybe' by Carly Rae Jepsen and omg listen, just listen.

9. Who doesn't want to be the best at everything? This book will show all girls how to be!

halloween nail art

I've been neglecting my blog for a few weeks as I've been getting my youtube channel set up, I miss blogging so much, I love blogging much more than making videos, videos take a while to film, export, edit and upload it takes days for me to get just one video up! Hopefully I will get the hang of it soon though and manage to balance out my time blogging and youtubeing!

I have created two nail art looks for halloween and filmed tutorials for them, the 'witchcraft' video is up now and the 'vampire' one I'm currently editing and won't be up until tomorrow. Hopefully you will be able to have a good view of my nails in the videos, its was very hard to film and I ended up making a few nail mistakes because of the angle I was at. I hope you like the videos and that they're easy to follow! Please leave me youtube video requests in the comments!

I'll be back to blogging soon!

I have finally, made my first youtube video!!! I am so scared its still on private at the moment but by the time this post is up you all will hopefully be able to see it! I keep rewatching it and just cringing at the sight of me haha! I'm not speaking in it or anything but its still so strange to watch myself! Though I've wanted to do this for a while so I may as well give it a try! Its just a video showing how I do my every day make up at the moment, I don't wear much these days because I usually can't be bothered to do anything fancy. I can't wait to film a video showing you all my bunnies though they're hilarious to watch (at least I think so). It took me a while to figure out where to film as my room comes off on camera as quite dark, I think I have figured out where to film but I could be moving around in the next videos. Anyways heres a link to the video (omg omg omg). Please like, comment and subscribe it would make me feel much better!

I made 500 followers last week and I will be doing a giveaway very soon, I am hoping to buy the giveaway prize tomorrow so if you have any ideas of what I can buy please comment below and let me know! I hope you enjoy my first every video eeeee scary stuff!

how i edit my blog photos

I have had a few questions about how I edit my photos and what software I used to enhance them on, so I thought I would do a post on how I do it to show you all how to get he same sort of effect in your own photos. I use the same filter on every photo I post on my blog except instagram photos of course, but I don't mention which one I use this is only because I want to keep my technique some what 'secret' sorry if this bothers any of you. If you're not that familiar with photoshop this might be a bit confusing for you but I've tried to make it as simple as possible. I use photoshop elements 10 it was £70 from the Apple store (I work on a macbook).

1. For blog photos I take many photos and open them in photoshop then choose the best ones and delete the rest. I save my chosen photos to my desktop and keep them open in photoshop.
2. I then go to the website pixlr.com and click on the pixlr-o-matic page.
3. I then choose what filter I want to use and save it as a copy of the original photo.
4. I open the filtered photo on photoshop (tutoria.jpg).
5. Then in the side bar on photoshop under the 'open files' tab I make sure I am clicked on the original unedited photo, then drag the filtered photo on top of the original photo.
6. Now I'm working on the original photo (background) file with two layers, the original photo and the filtered photo.
7. I click on the filtered photo layer and change the opacity to 50%.
8. I then click on the original photo layer.
9. Then click on the 'enhance' tab at the top.
10. Then the 'adjust colour' tab and then 'adjust colour curves' tab.
11. It will then open a new window and I click on the 'increase midtones' tab and press ok.
12. Then save the new photo and upload that to my blog.

Hopefully that wasn't too complicated for you, I'm not that good at describing things and if you're not familiar with photoshop this probably will seem like its in a different language. The reason I edit my photos is because I really like the 'dreamy' effect it gives, I edit every photo I put on here even photos of make up because it matches my blog and theme and I want consistency through out, it bothers people when I edit swatches of make up because it doesn't give a true representation of the colour but you can easily google swatches of that product if you really want to see the true colour. I don't just stick with the filter from pixlr as sometimes it makes the photos look quite dark but when I put it on photo shop and decrease the opacity it gives a really nice hue over the top of my photos. If you have any other questions just let me know!
