How I cleared up my skin in under two weeks

Ever since starting university my skin has been terrible! A lot of that was due to the extremely unhealthy eating, drinking and lack of sleep. But I have always been lazy with my skin which doesn't help either. I've been getting into make up again lately as for a while I literally didn't care about any of it! But once I cleared out my old make up and played around with what I've got left, I remembered how much fun it is! But in order to have achieve the flawless base of foundation I so desperately want, my skin needs to be clear. I've made a pledge to myself that I would start doing a proper skin care routine to try and clear up my skin. I have always had relatively good skin and only suffered from the occasional spot or blemish. But my skin a few weeks ago was covered in redness, spots and little pimples that aren't even spots, just bumps, it was horrible. I wanted something that was going to be quick and easy so even when I'm super tired it was not going to be such a chore to do every night and morning. I came across the La Roche Posay Effaclar 3 step system and it seemed perfect for what I was wanting. Just three products that were quick and easy to use everyday.

The first step in the system is a facial cleanser, it is a gel consistency which foams up as you work it into your skin. It leaves your skin so clean and soft! It is very mattifying which is probably due to it being a cleanser for oily skin. I didn't realise it was for oily skin when I bought the set and my skin type is just normal. I feel like after consistent use it could dehydrate my skin so I dont want to use it after my skin is back to normal. Once my skin is completely clear I will stop using it and only use it when I need it. If they sell the same cleanser for normal skin I probably will purchase that separately as it is a good cleanser I am just scared about using a cleanser that is wrong for my skin which could cause more problems in the long run.

The next product in the system is the exfoliating toner. This product claims to tighten pores and I definitely can agree that it does! I have always had visible pores and by using this I can totally see a difference! It contains lactic and salicylic acid which are apparently great for unclogging pores and getting rid of bacteria that cause breakouts! My skin colour is a lot more even now and seems to be less irritated and I believe that this toner has helped with that.

The last step in the system is probably their most famous product, Effaclar duo. This is a treatment that targets blemishes and uneven skin tone. It is such a lightweight moisturiser which can be worn during the day and is not at all shiny. I think this product is such a good idea as it is a moisturiser and a blemish treatment all in one, its especially great for people who are lazy when it comes to their skin, like me! On a night time I've been adding an extra moisturiser on top as a precaution incase the cleanser is too harsh for my skin type and it all seems to be working well.

I have been using this system for two weeks consistently and I have seen amazing results! My skin is almost completely clear from blemishes now and the overall redness that was on my cheeks is visibly reduced. I also think that because I haven't worn foundation for the majority of the two weeks, it has helped clear up my skin quicker, it feels good to give your skin a break and just let it heal. I really like skin care systems like this as I have found that when I use a variety of products from different brands, with lots of different ingredients in them they can cause irritation. So to have products that work together and compliment each other its a great thing!
