Usually I don’t change my daily makeup products very often as I love every product I currently use, the last time I switched up what I used was in the summer. So I thought it was about time I had a rearrange of my makeup for this season and start using some of the products I received for Christmas. Everything I use is cruelty free and theres a mix of drug store and high end products, you’ve probably seen me talk about some of these products in previous blog posts so I’ll just briefly mention those ones so I don’t bore you!

Foundation – The foundation I’ve been using for a few months is the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation. I really like this foundation for winter as it is a thicker formula which I feel like I can get away with using in the colder months. I prefer to use a lighter foundation or BB cream in the summer. I’ve recently been applying this with a Real Techniques buffing brush then blending it in with the Real Techniques diamond sponge. This gives my skin a flawless matte finish which is the finish I prefer in the winter.

Concealer – Next I apply concealer under my eyes and on any break outs I have, I usually only have to apply it to my eyes as the foundation does a great job of evening out the colour of my skin. I use the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer, I think I’ve been using this for about a year if not longer. I love this product, it hides any sign of darkness under your eyes and blemishes vanish under it! I blend this in with the Real Techniques diamond sponge as well and it gives an airbrushed finish. I never use a brush to blend in under eye concealer as it often goes patchy and seems to accentuate any dry patches.

Powder – To set my concealer and foundation I use the Soap and Glory Kick Ass pressed powder. This is a yellowy coloured product which is great for using under the eyes as it cancels out any darkness. I apply this with a Real Techniques setting brush under my eyes and I use quite a lot of product to avoid the concealer creasing. I also use this to set my foundation, using a Ted Baker large brush and apply it in pressing motions to ensure my flawless foundation application does not budge.

Bronzer – For bronzer and contour I use the Charlotte Tilbury Film Star Bronze and Glow palette. I take a Real Techniques contour brush and apply some of the bronzer colour to my cheek bones, forehead and under my jaw line. I then blend it in with a Real Techniques blush brush.

Blush – The blush I have been using recently is the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek To Chic blush in the shade first love. I apply this with a Spectrum AO5 brush to the apples of my cheeks and slightly further back towards my hair line.

Highlight – I use the highlight shade from the Charlotte Tilbury Film Star Bronze and Glow palette on the high points of my cheeks, above the tail end of my brow and on my nose and cupids bow. Sometimes I will also apply this to the inner corner of my eyes. This highlight is quite subtle but still noticeable, which I prefer for this time of year as I don’t want to look too glowy. I apply this with a Spectrum AO4 brush.

Eyebrows – I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow powder duo for my brows in the shade medium with the Anastasia Beverly Hills number 7B brow brush. I use the darkest colour in the tail ends of my brows and the lighter one towards the front. I then apply the Glossier Boy Brow to my brows to set them and give the hairs more definition. I concentrate this product towards the fronts of my brows to make the hairs stick upwards which creates more of a bushier look.

Eyes – For my eyes I use the Urban Decay Naked Basics eyeshadow palette and use the shade naked 2 all over my eyelid and below my lower lashes to give more definition that is lost when I apply concealer. I apply this with a flat Ted Baker brush and blend out the edges with a the Spectrum BO6 brush. I then curl my eyelashes and apply the Tanya Burr Selfie Lash mascara.

Setting Spray – Before I apply my mascara I will spray my face with the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray. I can’t live without this, I use it every time I do my makeup no matter what, it keeps my makeup on four hours without budging! When I was completing my Marine Mammal Medic training last May I wore this over my makeup and literally got splashed directly in the face with a 7ft wave and my makeup didn’t move!! Its incredible!

Lips – I never wear lipstick with my daily makeup but I always make sure I wear lip balm. I am currently using the Glossier The Balm Dotcom.

I’ve been looking for a new foundation that’s a thicker formula, as i tried Bare Minerals and just couldn’t get on board with the consistency (it seemed quite oily?) I was tempted to try either charlotte tilbury or too faced, but you may have sold CT to me. Thank-you! 🙂

If someone is vegan, must read the labels and claims with caution!!
This is especially relevant if you’re vegan, since “cruelty free” can often mean “not tested on animals”.
In other words, products labelled with reputable logos such as the Leaping Bunny may still not be vegan, so if you are, always look for a special logo and read the ingredients.
