Its almost the end of August and in the UK we may as well kiss what little summer we’ve had goodbye and look forward to the next festive few months. I had a very long summer break of 4 months off from university! I’ve done everything from work, visit mexico, catch up with old friends, chill and watch endless amounts of Netflix, its been such a relaxing and well needed break. I have done quite a bit in these past few months and I have been able to capture those memories with my polaroid camera thanks to Ocean Loans*. Ocean Loans set up a summer polaroid project to help people showcase their summer in style and so kindly sent me a Fujifilm instax mini 8 camera to be able to capture my summer activities, so this is what I got up to!

My summer break began in May and I was working a lot which I don’t mind doing as I love my job. If you didn’t already know, I work with animals as an animal technician so I was working extra days and just loving life in May! Not much else happened in May I don’t think, I mostly just used this time off to chill, watch Netflix and play with my bunnies!

At the end of June my mum and I went on holiday to Mexico for two weeks. We went to Playa Del Carmen which is such a beautiful place and we just sunbathed, chilled and got some really good sunrise pics most days and had a really relaxed time. You can watch my Mexico holiday diary video on my youtube channel here.

July was a bit of a weird one as once I had came back off holiday the days were just whizzing by, I didn’t feel motivated to do anything. I felt quite down in July as I felt like I was just wasting the days and I just couldn’t bring myself to do anything. The end of the month came round so fast and I was needed at the wildlife sanctuary I work at on occasion, the owners were going on holiday so I was there for a week to look after all of the animals. The last week in July was so good, it was really nice weather and I was spending my days at the sanctuary doing what I love playing with the goats and horses. The sanctuary is right in the middle of nowhere and you can’t here a thing, no noise from traffic or anything, it was such a good end to the month as it really refreshed me and got me back on track.

All of a sudden it was August, my birthday month, my birthday was on the 1st and I had a lovely day celebrating with my family and eating the most amazing vegan birthday cake! The month of August was when life started to pick up again, I was meeting up with friends and catching up with people I hadn’t seen in ages. I got back into blogging and making youtube videos and everything just started to get better again. My dad came home from work (he works away) and we went on loads of cute family outings to lovely places in the countryside. I also spent so many sunny days sat in the garden with the bunnies while they played around me, spending time with my rabbits is one of my favourite things to do!

This summer has been a mixture of work and play and I’ve loved it, I don’t want to get back to reality of university but its coming round quicker than ever! I go back to uni in the middle of September so I am going to make the most of these last few weeks so I am fully refreshed to get working again! What have you been up to this summer? I would love to hear about it!
