Tanya Burr Selfie Story Lash Mascara – For years I have been looking for a cruelty free alternative to Benefits they’re real mascara and in 2017 I found it! The Tanya Burr Cosmetics selfie lash mascara is the closest dupe that I’ve come across and I haven’t stopped using it since I bought it! It gives my lashes loads of length, separation and definition.
Anastasia Beverly Hills brow powder – I started of 2017 using the Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow pomade and loved it, I still do but it takes me quite a while to do my brows when I use dip brow. I wanted something that was quicker to use on a daily basis so I got the brow powder for my birthday in August and have used it ever since. I have the shade medium and I use the darkest colour out of the two, the powder is very pigmented so a little goes a long way. I have been using it almost daily since August and it doesn’t look like I’ve even touched it!
Anastasia Beverly Hills modern renaissance – I received this as a gift for my birthday in August and I’ve been in love with it ever since. It has been my eyeshadow palette of choice for whenever I go out. I use warm taupe on a daily basis as it is the perfect natural eyeshadow colour and all of the rest are beautiful warm shades of orange, red and pink, the perfect shades for my skin tone. Everything from the quality of the shadows to the packaging is gorgeous.
Glossier milky jelly cleanser – 2017 was the year that Glossier came to the UK and I’m so thankful for it! I jumped on the band waggon and bought a couple of products to try out and they don’t disappoint! The milky jelly cleanser is one of the nicest face cleansers I’ve ever used, it is so gentle especially on sensitive skin like mine. I use it every morning to refresh my skin, it is gentle enough to use on your eyes so it is great to use on a morning when you might have sleep around your eyes! It is very moisturising and I think this has helped keep my skin clear and under control for the past few months.
Glossier boy brow – Another Glossier fan favourite is the boy brow, eyebrow mascara. I use this over the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow powder to keep them in place all day. I have tried a lot of brow mascaras over the years and this Glossier one is the best one I’ve used. It gives each individual lash loads of definition, I concentrate it on the beginning of my brows and it keeps the hairs sticking up which gives your eyebrows a much fuller look.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation – In 2017 NARS started to sell in China making them no longer cruelty free. So I had to find a different foundation to use and I had been wanting to try the magic foundation for a while so this was the perfect opportunity. I loved the NARS sheer glow foundation so this magic foundation had a lot to live up to and it didn’t disappoint! The formula is a bit thicker and creamier than the NARS sheer glow as expected as it is more of a medium coverage foundation. I love the look it gives my skin, it is matte but not so much that it makes you look lifeless. I apply it with my real techniques sponge and it makes my skin look flawless.
Lush rosy cheeks face mask – If you collect five empty Lush pots and return them to Lush to be recycled you can pick a face mask to have for free. I chose the rosy cheeks mask and it quickly became an all time favourite. It is mattifying without stripping your skin of moisture, soothing, calming and the perfect mask to apply when you’re having a pamper sesh!
Lush ro’s argan body conditioner – 2017 was the year I discovered Lush body conditioners. I always forget to moisturise my skin and when I do remember I cant stand the feeling of having sticky skin when the lotion sinks in. Body conditioners are perfect for me as you use them in the shower and rinse them off. After you’ve washed your body you apply the body conditioner to your skin and wait a couple of minutes then rinse it off. My favourite is the Ro’s Argan body conditioner, it smells incredible and leaves your skin silky soft without the heavy feeling of normal body lotions.
Nails Inc nail polish – I hadn’t used Nails Inc nail polish in years as I thought they weren’t cruelty free but they are so in June my mum and I treat our self to get our nails painted at a Nails Inc nail bar. We had a couple of appointments and you could buy any of their nail polishes for £2 extra when you got your nails painted there. I did this every time I got my nails done and collected about 6 of their colours. I had pretty much been using only Models Own nail polish for years so it was nice to have a change. The colour choice and quality of Nail Inc is amazing and I love how their bottles look!
Ecodenta black toothpaste – The toothpastes that you would buy in the likes of Tesco etc. are usually not cruelty free, I buy my toothpaste from Holland and Barett and would just choose any one I liked the look of for a while until I came across the Ecodenta black toothpaste. This has been my toothpaste of choice for a good few months. You might have seen the instagram craze of using charcoal powder to whiten your teeth, this toothpaste is black and contains charcoal to whiten your teeth naturally without the mess of having to use a separate powder. It tastes very minty and fresh just like a normal tooth paste but it is gently and naturally whitening your teeth when ever you use it. I have noticed a difference in the colour of my teeth ever since using this, I love it and I think I will continue to use it for quite a while.
