It’s at this time of year where we all seem to whip out the deep dark burgundy’s, maroon’s and plum colours in every aspect of life! Whether it’s lipstick, clothing or nail polish these colours always seem to make an appearance. I have only really experimented with my clothing and nail polish in these colours in the past, but I have a couple of gorgeous lipsticks that I am desperate to try out this season. In this blog post I am going to share my favourites and how you can incorporate these festive colours into your November style.

Nail polishes – Switching up your nail polish shade is a really easy way to incorporate darker colours into your autumn style without going straight to the deep dark lipsticks which can be scary for some. I admit I am still scared to even wear a nude lipstick never mind a deep dark red! Two of my favourite nail polishes in these shades are pictured above. They are the Barry M sunset curing nail polishes in the shade ‘vengeance is wine’ and ‘plum on baby light my fire’. The majority of my nail varnish collection is Barry M purely because they’re such good quality, they have an amazing colour selection and best of all they’re cruelty free and vegan.

Lipsticks – I am still pretty terrified of wearing lipsticks to this day, I have never worn them on a daily basis as I always felt they made me look a bit too ‘dressed up’ for daily wear. I know that’s ridiculous but for me it’s a big step! I also feel like wearing lipstick exaggerates the unevenness of my top lip. But anyway, I am trying to push myself and get over that by wearing more daring colours if I go anywhere other than uni or work, a few of my top picks are pictured above. The two Too Faced melted lipsticks are in she shades ‘melted fig’ and ‘melted berry’. They are such gorgeous shades of plum, you can build them up to a full deep colour but you can also use a little bit and blend it in with your fingers for more of a subtle stained effect. I love the formula of them, they are so creamy and literally melt onto your lips, they last all day too! Another favourite is the Kylie lip kit in the shade ‘posie k’ this isn’t really a plum or burgundy colour but on my lips it looks quite purple, I really like it as a subtle hint to this vampy trend.

Blush & highlighters – My current favourite blush and highlighter combo is the Too Faced blush in the shade ‘your love is king’ and the purple highlighter from the Sleek solstice palette. These two products are the perfect duo! They give your face such a lovely rosey glow, these paired with the Too Faced melted lipstick in ‘melted fig’ is my current favourite evening go to makeup look.
