I’m back at uni now which is why I haven’t been posting as much as I would have liked but I’m just getting settled and organised for now so please bare with me! Today I just wanted to show you what’s in my bag that I take to lectures. I always find these types of blog posts and youtube videos interesting so I thought I’d share mine with you all too!
My bag is from Ted Baker, it is leather but I bought it before I went vegan. I have got rid of the majority of my leather items but this is the newest so I’ve kept it because I haven’t used it much. I think its unrealistic for people to think that as soon as you make the decision to go vegan you must be 100% cruelty free, but thats not possible unless you literally get rid of all you own and repurchase everything, which I obviously don’t have the money for! I feel like I’m still in my transition phase as I have only been vegan for 5 months which really isn’t that long and I do have a long way to go to be completely cruelty free in all aspects of life! But veganism isn’t about being perfect, its about doing the best you can to cause as little harm as possible, so I thought I’d just get that out of the way with before someone says ‘leather isn’t vegan’.
I do love the shape and size of this bag, its really convenient and comes with a long strap so you can wear it over your body and two normal sized handles to wear just on your arm. It isn’t too big which is good for uni as I never fancy carrying round a load of stuff as its just a hassle really, but I would like it to be just the tiniest bit longer as I can’t really fit my folder in properly. I love the colour of it but sadly when I wear black jeans the dye rubs off onto the back of the bag which is so annoying, if you have any tips on how to avoid that happening they would be much appreciated!
The first thing in my bag is my folder, it is just from ASDA and I keep my module handbooks in here, and any handouts or pieces of paper that I have been given from lecturers so I have them on hand at all times. This folder has a pocket on the front of it so I keep my timetable in there for easy viewing. I really like these types of folders as they don’t take up too much room and they’re light weight, the only down side to this folder is that the plastic pockets inside are removable and they quite often fall out.
Next is my notebook, it was from Paperchase years ago. I keep buying nice notebooks and stationary and never use it because I think its too pretty to spoil! But it was getting a bit ridiculous and pointless not using it so I’ve forced myself to use it this year and I really like it. I always use A4 notebooks for lecture notes as I just think its easier and ring binders are the best so you can fold your book over without it bending!
Next is my diary and again this is something I’ve had for years but haven’t used as I didn’t want to spoil it but I didn’t want to waste money on buying new stationary when I had some going unused in my draws, so I’m using it this year. It was from Ted Baker and it zips open and has an A5 note pad in there and some pockets for random pieces of paper etc.
My pencil case was from H&M years ago, its actually supposed to be a makeup bag but I’m using it as a pencil case this year and I am obsessed with the pattern! The colour is gorgeous and in different lights it just glows! In my pencil case I have endless amounts of pens, pencils and the usual stationary bits.
I of course just have my purse in my bag as well to use if I’ve had a hard day and need to reward myself with some diet coke from the vending machine! My purse is Michael Kors and it is in the most gorgeous burgundy colour ever!
Some other random items I also have in my bag are some tissues, my student badge & accommodation keys, polos, my glasses, hand sanitizer and hand cream. I also have a Zoella perfume, an umbrella and a mini mirror. That is all I keep in my bag and take to lectures with me, I live on campus so I don’t really need to bring too much with me which is good because having to carry a huge heavy bag around with you all day is no fun! I hope you’ve enjoyed a peek inside my bag and I’ll speak to you all again very soon!
